It’s a Big Marching Band Week!
Festival is on Wednesday and the Auditorium Show is on Saturday. This is also the last full week of rehearsals for the marching season! We do have the possibility of playoff football, however we will be looking to make the transition into the concert bands next week and rehearse marching as needed for playoff football games.
Be sure to dress for the weather this week, it’s going to be cool.
Goals this Week
– Big and balanced tone with musical shaping and emotion
– Performing our best marching fundamentals every time and everywhere
– Taking individual responsibility for marching technique and music memorization
– Functioning as a 100% marching band unit
– Performing our best show!
Monday
– Fix drill collision in 2 and 3
– Checking memorization
– Running the show in sequence
Tuesday
Leadership Meeting during seminar
Wednesday
– Using the Stadium to give us as many show runs as possible with complete focus on fundamentals
– Festival in the evening (see itinerary below)
Thursday
– Auditorium Rehearsal
Friday
– Using seminar to practice bows

– Auditorium Show (see itinerary below)

Wednesday – MSBOA Marching Festival (10-11-23)
3:30 pm – Band Room Open
– Clothes to wear under uniform, black band t-shirt, tall black socks (you can dress in layers for warmth, but not too bulky!)
– Change into uniform
– Pizza (Thank You Band Boosters!)
4:00 pm – Load the Trailer
4:30 pm – Bus Departure
5:10 pm – Arrive at Mona Shores High School
6:15 pm – Warm-Up
6:45 pm – Travel Time
7:00 pm – Perform The Muppets
7:15 pm – Watch Bands
8:15 pm – Awards
8:40 pm – Departure
9:20 pm – Arrive at Coopersville High School
There will be concessions available at the festival. Gate fee for the festival is $5.00 per person
Saturday – Auditorium Show (10-14-23)
3:00 pm – Band Room Open
3:15 pm – Change into Uniform
3:45 pm – Set Staging for Show Entrance
4:00 pm – Auditorium Show Begins
5:15 pm – Show Ends (Approx)
