Booster Meeting

Monday, Jan. 14, 2019

Meeting called to order at 6:03 pm

In attendance- Amy Karns, Greg VanStrien, Lisa Borst, Karen Pike, Beth Mast, Michelle Callahan, Sue Bennett, Anne Patrenko (GVSU student teacher)

Student rep: Jessica Callahan

Reports

  • October meeting minutes reviewed
    • Added membership, committee staff, and background checks addendum to bi-laws. Motion carried to approval by Beth M and Keli N.
      • Under Article II- “*Executive Board members must have a student in the band.”
  • Financial- Keli N.
    • Bank statement reviewed and approved.- motion carried to approval by Karen P and Beth M.
  • Fundraisers- reminders in newsletter. All fundraisers to be cleared thru Lisa Adams/ Administration.
    • Family Fare receipts- $120,000/$150,000 goal, digital receipts must be printed- reminder in newsletter.
    • SCRIP- Amy K
      • $3,034 credited to student accounts.
    • Chocolate Sale- about 40 outstanding student chocolate bills.
    • 5 Below- $5.20 profit.
    • Buffalo Wild Wings- possible band night in February- $$ to general fund.
    • Band Swag- online ordering, Amy K working.

Vice President/ Uniform Committee via Amy K.

  • Dry cleaning fee- due. Can be paid via heart ship fund.
    • Action approved via executive board text.
    • Uniforms- start ordering Spring 2019.- need estimate.

Band Director’s Report

  • Solo and Ensemble for high school 2/9.
  • Festival- location TBD. Possible 2020 host.
    • Pre-festival concert- no booster table needed.
  • Directors gone to MIchigan Music Conference 1/20/19.
  • NY trip info coming.

New Business

  • Senior photo- group photo to be taken. Time/location TBD.
  • Jan/ Feb 2019 calendar reviewed.
  • New York City Trip
    • Parent meeting in March.
    • K-9 unit to sweep prior to departure.
    • Remind– tabled due to technical issue. Will need communication method on trip.

Old Business

  • Athletic Booster Info- Amy K asking for consideration on 50/50 and/or concessions. Will follow up at next athletic booster meeting.

Next meeting- February 4 @ 6pm in high school band room.
