Reminder – Marching Season Begins tomorrow!

Conflicts – Several parents have emailed me about conflicts with athletic practices this week and next.   We have a plan in place for many of them but we still need communication between the band directors and the coach.  I would like to work on a compromise plan where we split time.  If you could include the coach in your requests that can help as well.  Most coaches have been very flexible with their time, and I would like to do the same.

Pre-Camp (All Members) August 15 and 16 9am-11am

Leadership Meeting (Leadership Team Only) August 15 and 16 11am-12pm

Band Camp (All Members) August 21 – August 24

Uniform Fittings

August 15 Grade 9-10 12pm-3pm and 6pm to 9pm

August 16 Grades 11-12 12pm-3pm

(We do ask that you try to follow the times for each grade.  If a time does not work for your grade level, please come to one of the other fittings)

Uniform Help

Under the band booster section of the webpage we have a Sign Up Genius started to get parents involved in helping fit the uniforms.  We have 140 kids to fit so the more volunteers we have the more efficient we can be!

Congratulations Mrs. Borst!

This summer Mrs. Borst earned her Masters in Wind Conducting from Sam Houston State University as a part of the American Band College.   She graduated with High Honors in a three year program.  During this time she published several research based projects which will benefit music educators across the nation.

Congratulations again Mrs. Borst!  Coopersville Area Public Schools are very fortunate to have such a talented music educator!

Clarification – The drumline rehearsals this week are for the drumline only. Pit percussion will be scheduled at a later date.

The Marching Season gets underway this week!  Here are some reminders of events going on:

• Drumline Rehearsals August 9-11 (Wed-Fri) from 10am-2pm in the Band Room
• Kids Fest – The Boosters be having a Marching Drum Petting Zoo for the kids.  Several drumline members will be there to help.  Come on out and meet Mr. VanStrien from 5pm-8pm on Thursday as a part of the Del Shannon Days
