WEEK 7 (10/16/17 – 10/20/17)
BAND BOOSTER MEETING CHANGE

• 2nd Mondays of the month (except December)
• 6:00 – 7:00pm in the MIDDLE SCHOOL CHOIR ROOM. (An hour before community band!)
• Next meeting Monday, November 16.  

CHOCOLATE SALE UPDATE

• All money should have been turned in unless a student took out an extra box in the last 2 days.

5TH GRADE BAND

• Trumpets/Clarinets- Notes: G, F, E
• Saxophones- Notes: D, C, B
• Flutes/Trombones Notes: F, Eb, D

6TH GRADE BAND

• “Pink Sheet” – #2 Eb Major, “A First Winter’s Sleigh Ride”
  

SOLO & ENSEMBLE

• Solo & Ensemble Students – were assigned pianists and needed to contact them no later than today to set up times to rehearse.
  • Additional information will be emailed out

7th GRADE BAND

• “Sleigh Ride” &  “A Christmas Fanfare”

8th GRADE BAND

• “A Holiday Sing Along”

HIGH SCHOOL BANDS

• Game Tonight: 5:00 Call time – 5:30 Rehearsal on field – 6:40 Game begins –
  • We will play through the whole game.  Go Broncos!

Banquet/Auditorium Show – Saturday, October 28th 5:00pm

• Each family brings a main dish and a salad or dessert for potluck dinner
  • Any and all family members invited – free!
  • Bring your own plates, napkins, cutlery and beverages.
• Auditorium show will begin after dinner around 6:30.

JAZZ BAND

• EMBOUCHURE CHECK –

  • Clarinets – Mouthpiece (w/reed & ligature) & barrel
  • Saxophones – Mouthpiece (w/reed & ligature) & curved neck
  • Trumpets/Trombones – Buzz using only their mouthpiece
• Practice note reading skills through the online game “Music Racer”

HIGH SCHOOL BANDS

• Homecoming is TODAY!

• • • Students report to band room at 3:45 to change into uniform
    • Pizza will be provided outside of the band room after the parade
    • Band students are highly encouraged to play with the band throughout the football game but may leave after halftime if they wish (for the homecoming game only)

• • Report time: 5:45 am
  • Performance at Cedar Springs High School: 8:30 am
  • Detailed itinerary will be provided this weekend

Jazz Band: Preparing pieces that will be performed for December Concert including: “Big Noise From Winnetka,” “Song For My Father,” “Moanin’,” and “Birdland.”

HIGH SCHOOL BANDS

• CMU Band Day is tomorrow!!

• • • Report to band room at 6:15am – Itinerary on website
    • Uniform – White Beatles t shirt and solid colored shorts (if possible)
      • We are NOT wearing or bringing the full uniforms due to the heat

• Homecoming is Friday

• • All students are expected to march in the Homecoming Parade
  • Pizza will be provided between the parade and the game
  • Band Students will be released after the halftime show

Jazz Band: Listening Assignment #2 was due today, “Birdland,” & Chord Change Reading

Due to the extreme heat we will be waiting until next week Monday (9/25) to begin our annual chocolate sale.
