Booster Meeting

Monday, February 4, 2019

Meeting called to order at 6:06 pm

In attendance- Amy Karns, Greg VanStrien, Lisa Borst, Karen Pike, Beth Mast, Michelle Callahan, Sue Bennett, Anne Patrenko (GVSU student teacher), Amy Young, Keli Nobert, Christine Sprague, Kari Fuller

Student rep: Nick Karns, Sam Owen, Vincent Bennett

Reports

  • January meeting minutes read- motioned made and approved by Beth M, and Christine S.
  • Financial- Keli N.
    • Trip payment made.
    • Dry cleaning bill- collecting for marching/concert 2019/2020.
    • Solo & Ensemble reimbursement posted.
    • Bank statement reviewed and approved.- motion carried to approval by Karen P and Amy K.
  • Fundraisers- reminders in newsletter. All fundraisers to be cleared thru Lisa Adams/ Administration.
    • Family Fare receipts- less than $10,000 away from $150,000 goal, digital receipts must be printed- reminder in newsletter.
    • SCRIP- Amy K
      • 24 active accounts- $3,126 credited to student accounts.
    • Chocolate Sale- about 30outstanding student chocolate bills.
    • Buffalo Wild Wings- possible band night in February- $$ to general fund.

Vice President/ Uniform Committee

  • Nothing to report.

Band Director’s Report

  • Solo and Ensemble for high school 2/9.
  • Festival- High School- 2/28/19- Grand Haven HS, time TBD, Middle School- 3/8/19- time TBD
    • Chaperones needed- Amy K.
    • Pre-festival concert- 2/11- High School
      • no booster table needed.
  • NYC trip- Guide assigned, itinerary coming.
    • Student bus/hotel assignments via google forms.
    • 2/13/19 last day to contact Treasurer for student payout.

New Business

  • Feb/March 2019 calendar reviewed.
  • Marching Banquet placemat printing?- Amy K
  • Struyk Up The Band Fund- Kari Fuller
    • Fully funded. Will be endowed.
    • Can continue to donate- tax deductible.
    • Great senior account donation opportunity.
    • Recognition opportunity- Plaque?

Old Business

  • Athletic Booster Info- Amy K.
  • Football season 2019/2020 season
    • Booster table- south end- Swag sale (no food)-Need coordinator.
    • Senior recognition- during halftime
    • Program inserts- would have to print our own.
  • Fundraiser Swag Sale- Running Stitches- Amy K.
    • Samples/pictures/ info presented. More to come.
  • Banquet senior recognition pictures
    • Olivia Szysko- Directors to obtain.

Next meeting- March 11 @ 6pm in High School room 136.
