Homecoming Band Schedule and Announcements

High School Band Members and Parents,

Thank you for your flexibility with the schedule last Friday.  It was really great to see parents, students and our boosters make everything work!

We may encounter another scenario this week similar to what happened last week.  Many schools are already moving up games, so we want to be ready.  Here is the current schedule as it stands right now.

3:45 Report to Band Room and Change into Uniform

4:15 Line Up for Parade

5:00 Parade

5:30 Dinner provided by the Band Boosters (Donations of beverages would be appreciated)

6:15 Warm up on Practice Field

6:40 March to Stadium

7:00 Game

If this schedule changes we will email out information as soon as we get it.

Just a reminder that all band members march.  If student wants to represent another group while they march, they should talk to Mr. VanStrien or Mrs. Borst.

Important – Please Read – HS Band

We were just informed at 12:30pm that the game time will be changed.

Due to the predicted severe weather the game time will now start at 5:30. The schedule is below:

3:30 – Booster are providing Pizza (Thank you boosters for doing this on extreme short notice)

4:00 – 4:30 – Uniforms

4:45 – Report to field

5:00 – March to Stadium

Due to rain –

-Woodwinds must have CASES with them and bring them to the stadium

-Rain coats will be handed out

-No plumes (The died plumes look fantastic and we don’t want to ruin them with the rain or ruin our uniforms)

Other

-Hair must be put up INSIDE of shako (BOYS & GIRLS)

Be flexible – We will handle these changes TOGETHER!

Yard Signs

Yard signs will be available for pick up after band class tomorrow.  They will be located in the band room!  Thank you!!

Band T-Shirts

Due to the overwhelming number of band students that forget their black band t-shirts, the Boosters are no longer able to let students borrow them. If they do not bring them and are unable to get them for a performance, they will need to buy another one for $10.  It is their responsibility to make sure they bring them to every performance because it is part of the band uniform.  By wearing these shirts, the band looks great when they need to take off the marching jackets during warmer nights and we want our students to be able to take off their jackets to cool down.  Finally, it is costing the Boosters hundreds of dollars to do this.  We cannot sell these once they have been used.

At last Friday’s game, we had students borrow shirts.  They were advised to return the shirt after the football game to a specific band mom (who was in the same spot she handed them out at and was there long enough for students to return them) or they would be charged $10.    We will not be accepting return t-shirts now.  If your student borrowed a shirt on Friday and did not return it, they will be charged for it in November.

We appreciate your support in this.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Amy Karns.  president@coopersvillebands.org
