Band Camp Theme Days and Freshmen Leadership Report

We had a very productive day today at Leadership and Freshman Day!  Our freshmen did a great job and are well-prepared for camp next week.

High School Band Camp Update Mid-July

Band Summer Mailing – Mid July

Hello Students and Families,

Pre-Camp activities are beginning this week!  Freshmen pre-camp is on Wednesday from 9:00-12:00 on the band practice field behind the school.  Please bring water bottles and sunblock.   Drumline pre-camp is also happening this week.  Please read the information below if you are in drumline.  Leadership Team will assist the Freshmen during the morning and will meet from 12:00-3:00 for training.  We will provide a pizza lunch for the leadership team.  

Updates and Information 

Please begin stocking up on supplies that will be needed for camp

– AAA Batteries – These are for our new Click system.   A supply like these on Amazon will get a student through the season

– Wired Earbuds – These will also be for our new Click system. 

(The Click System are individual devices that give each student a metronome in their ear with customized coordinates for each member.  There is no longer a need for the big loud speakers!)

Lunches

Please plan on bringing a sack lunch each day during camp.  The will not be refrigerators available and will have to be stored in the student lockers 

Uniform Fitting

Students will be fit for uniforms during camp.  Each student is being assigned a time.  Please follow the schedule so our parent volunteers can get everyone fit in a timely fashion.  If there is a conflict with your assigned time please text Christine Sprague at 616-502-1426  Please follow this document for instructions and times.

Music – Music is ready for students in the drive link.  The only music not there is drumline and pit that will come directly from Mark.  Part assignment are not complete, however many of you will have a good idea of what part.  If you are a freshmen you will be playing a 2nd or 3rd part.  You will need to use a CAPS email to access the music.

Drumline –  Drumline Pre-Camp is this week on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00-12:00.  There is no rehearsal on Thursday as Mark is unavailable.  Please follow your drumline schedule or follow the  master calendar for all the dates.  Your attendance in necessary.  If you have a pre-planning vacation or camp, please make sure you communicate with both the band directors and Mark.  

Tentative Schedule for 2024-2025 This document is all the upcoming dates for the new school year.  This includes all drumline dates as well on the second page.  With the availability of the new athletic fields, we now have the opportunity to use the field for evening rehearsals.  This has been something we have been missing for quite sometime and we now puts us on a more level playing field as we prepare for performances.  There are four scheduled rehearsals that occur during performance weeks.

The Band Fee is used to help cover camp expenses and hiring staff.  No student will be turned away or excluded based on financial concerns.

$10 – Uniform Black Band T-shirt ( Freshmen & new members)

$50 – Band Fee

  • Paypal will be an option later this summer
  • Band boosters will also be collecting money in the morning
  • Please make checks out to “Coopersville Bronco Band Boosters”
  • Families with more than 2 students in band will only be charged 1 fee of $100
  • Marching Shoes will also be needed and a link to a storefront will be available later this summer.

Other Supplies Needed for Camp

– Water Bottle

– Sunscreen

This is the first of several emails regarding summer dates and camp information.I will continue to send updates throughout the summer as music and drill get completed.   Here is the important information as we head into the summer months.

Show Theme

We look forward to presenting our 2024 show entitled Journey Through the Stars!  Music is being prepared now and will be available to students once it is finished.
