BRONCO BAND NEWSLETTER  
WEEK 4 9/25/17 – 9/29/17 (HAPPY HOMECOMING!)
CHOCOLATE SALE: 9/25 – 10/16

  • *CORRECTION*- Money is not due until 10/16!
  • Checks should be made out to: BRONCO BAND BOOSTERS
  • Unsold chocolate needs to be returned no later than 10/9

5TH GRADE BAND

  • EMBOUCHURE CHECK –
    • Flutes – Only headjoint
    • Clarinets – Mouthpiece (w/reed & ligature) & barrel
    • Saxophones – Mouthpiece (w/reed & ligature) & curved neck
    • Trumpets/Trombones – Buzz using only their mouthpiece
  • Practice note reading skills through the online game “Music Racer”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BANDS

    • If your child is struggling with note reading have them work on this skill through the online game “Music Racer.” https://www.musicracer.com/

 

  • 7th/8th Grade – Solo & Ensemble Forms – FINAL DEADLINE is MONDAY!

 

6th Grade Band: Pg. 43 Bb Scale, Bb technique skill Pg. 25 #95 Eb Scale, “Medallion Overture” and “Christmas Fanfare”
6th Percussion: Working on mallets this week and next.
7th Grade Band: Bb, Eb, F Major Scales. “Charlie Brown Christmas,” “Deck the Halls”
8th Grade Band: Bb, Eb, F, & Ab Major Scales, Flourishing Noels,” “Goin’ On a Sleigh Ride.”

HIGH SCHOOL BANDS

 

  • Homecoming is TODAY!

 

      • Students report to band room at 3:45 to change into uniform
      • Pizza will be provided outside of the band room after the parade
      • Band students are highly encouraged to play with the band throughout the football game but may leave after halftime if they wish (for the homecoming game only)

 

  • Cedar Springs Red Flannel

 

    • Report time: 5:45 am
    • Performance at Cedar Springs High School: 8:30 am
    • Detailed itinerary will be provided this weekend

Jazz Band: Preparing pieces that will be performed for December Concert including: “Big Noise From Winnetka,” “Song For My Father,” “Moanin’,” and “Birdland.”
